Workshop on Development of
Global Land Surface Satellite Products
12-14
MAY
2023
Objectives
The objective of the workshop on the development of global land surface satellites is to bring together experts and stakeholders from different fields to discuss the progress, challenges, and solutions in the development of global land surface satellite products. The workshop aims to promote the sustainable development of the earth's resources by providing accurate and reliable data products on carbon, energy and water-related variables. Additionally, the workshop will explore the potential applications of a global land surface satellite in various fields, such as agriculture, forestry, and natural resource management, to support sustainable development and environmental conservation efforts. The workshop will consist of two days’ workshop and one day’s field trip. The workshop includes talks from land surface remote sensing experts focusing on technical aspects of satellite development, including data processing, inversion algorithms and product validation. The field trip will be conducted in Hong Kong Geopark, where participants will have the opportunity to integrate remote sensing theory with an immersive field experience in the coastal zone region.
